      "level": 2,
      "text": "Almost nobody decides to run an office on five systems. It happens step by step. Desk sharing starts during the pandemic, so a booking tool is bought. Reception needs a visitor log that survives an audit, so a second tool arrives. Parking is short, so someone builds a spreadsheet. The works council asks for figures, so a third tool exports them. Each step is reasonable; the result is not. The cost is rarely the licence. It is that the five systems disagree. The booking tool knows 300 employees, the visitor tool knows 280, the parking sheet knows the 40 people who asked loudest. Nobody can say how full the building was last Tuesday, because three systems would each give a different answer."

    {
      "heading": "What changes with one system",
      "level": 2,
      "text": "Door James takes the opposite approach: one user directory, one floor plan model, one check-in event. A colleague who books a desk, brings a visitor and reserves a parking space produces three entries in the same record. Occupancy reporting is then not a separate project but a by-product. That also changes the work of the people running the office. Instead of maintaining lists, they maintain rules: how far in advance may a desk be booked, which areas are reserved for which teams, who approves a visitor, which service requests go to which group. The rules run themselves; the exceptions are what needs attention."

    {
      "heading": "The smaller building blocks that make it stick",
      "level": 2,
      "text": "A workplace system is adopted or ignored in the first two weeks, and what decides it is rarely the booking flow. It is the small things around it. Office news replaces the all-staff email nobody reads. Announcements carry an icon, an urgency level and a time window, appear on the dashboard of the affected location and disappear on their own when they expire – so the notice about the lift being out is gone the day it is fixed. The office directory answers the questions new colleagues actually ask: where is the printer, the first aid kit, the coffee machine, the charging point, the gym, the mail room. Each entry sits on the floor plan, which is more useful than a list. Colleague finder and teams turn an empty floor into a reason to come in. People see who is in today, book next to them, and add a whole team to a booking in one step – subject to each person's own privacy setting. Achievements are the part everyone underestimates. Collectible badges for regular check-ins, hosting visitors or trying a new area sound trivial, and they measurably raise check-in discipline – which is what the occupancy figures depend on. Organizations can define their own and award special ones by hand."

      "heading": "An honest boundary",
      "level": 2,
      "text": "Office management software is not building management. Door James does not control access hardware, does not run building technology and is not a CAFM system for maintenance contracts and asset depreciation. It manages how people use the office. Where the boundary matters – access control, fire detection, certified safety systems – we say so explicitly on the pages concerned rather than stretching the product description."

  ],
  "faq": [
    {
      "question": "What exactly does office management software do?",
      "answer": "It covers the recurring operational tasks of an office: allocating workplaces and meeting rooms, receiving visitors, managing parking and equipment, organising internal events, handling service requests, and documenting who is on site. Door James combines these tasks in one application so that a booking, a check-in and a visitor registration all end up in the same data set."
    },
    {
      "question": "Do we have to license the modules separately?",
      "answer": "No. Door James is licensed per user, and every module is included. The standard list price is EUR 2 per user per month with a minimum of 250 users. That is deliberate: office management should not have to justify each additional function as a new purchase."
    },
    {
      "question": "Can we start with one module and add the rest later?",
      "answer": "Yes, and that is the usual path. Most organizations start with desk booking, add visitor management once reception is convinced, and switch on analytics after a few weeks of data. Technically everything is already active; it is a question of rollout, not of licensing."
    },
    {
      "question": "Does it replace our facility management system?",
      "answer": "No. Door James manages the daily use of the office – who sits where, who visits, what is booked and how full the building is. Maintenance planning, contracts, asset lifecycle and building technology stay in your CAFM or ERP system. The two are complementary, and usage data from Door James can be exported into them."
    },
    {
      "question": "Who typically owns the system internally?",
      "answer": "In most organizations office or facility management owns the day-to-day configuration, IT owns the integration and identity setup, and HR or leadership use the reports. The role and permission model is built for exactly that split."
