# Parking, charging points and custom resources

> Door James manages parking spaces and EV charging points with licence plate management, fair quotas and booking before people set off. Custom assets extend the same logic to any resource: lockers, pool cars, e-bikes, lab equipment, gym slots or tools – configurable per location, with no extra licence.

The same booking logic as for desks, applied to everything that is scarce at your locations.

## Features

- **Book parking spaces** – Employees secure their space before they set off – as a one-off or as a series for fixed office days.
- **EV charging points** – Charging bays are managed as their own asset type, including limited booking duration for higher throughput.
- **Licence plate management** – Users store their plate; reception and security can see which vehicle belongs to which booking.
- **Fair allocation** – Quotas, lead times and group permissions stop a few people from blocking all spaces permanently.

## Parking is rarely a capacity problem

When no space is free at nine in the morning, that does not automatically mean spaces are missing. Usually what is missing is the information about who arrives when. Booking before departure creates that information – and with it the ability to steer quotas fairly, limit long-term parkers and rotate charging points.

## One data model for everything bookable

The real advantage of custom assets is not the individual resource but the fact that your organization no longer needs a separate tool whenever something new becomes bookable. The process is always the same: create the asset type, define attributes, set rules, place assets on the floor plan. For users it stays the same app, for IT the same system, for privacy the same retention rules.

### Can we manage visitor parking separately?

Yes. Visitor bays can be managed as their own area and reserved directly from a visitor invitation.

### What qualifies as a custom asset?

Anything that can be described with availability, rules and optionally a position on a floor plan – lockers, equipment, company cars or e-bikes.

### Does an additional asset type cost extra?

No. The licence is based on authorized users, not on modules or asset types.
