      "text": "Every evacuation concept depends on knowing who should be accounted for. Traditionally that is a printed list maintained by someone, for an event that hopefully never happens – which is exactly why it is rarely current. Visitors and contractors are the most common gap. Booking and check-in systems invert the maintenance problem: the list is a by-product of daily use. Whoever checked in is on it, whoever checked out is not, and visitors are included through visitor management."

      "text": "It states who registered their presence. It does not state who is in which room, and it does not detect someone who entered without checking in. For coordination at the assembly point and handover to emergency services that is a substantial improvement over paper; as a safety-critical system it is not sufficient and is generally not offered as one."
