Web app
Full functionality in the browser, no installation – the fastest route for desk-based work.
Product
The same platform, wherever the booking actually happens – in the browser, on the move, in the team chat or on the way to the office.
In short
Door James is available through several channels: the web app at wa.doorjames.app, native iOS and Android apps with push and geofencing, a Microsoft Teams app, apps for Apple Watch and Wear OS, CarPlay and Android Auto for the commute, and kiosk tablets at reception. All channels work on the same data.
Full functionality in the browser, no installation – the fastest route for desk-based work.
iOS and Android with push notifications, QR scanner, geofencing and an offline-capable badge.
Book without switching tools: the Teams app uses the Microsoft identity and shows activity in a Teams tab.
Agenda with tap-to-check-in, current booking, favourite colleagues and who is on site at a chosen office.
Apple Watch and Wear OS: the next booking, check-in and the badge QR code on the wrist, with a next-booking tile and a watch-face complication on Wear OS.
Booking and check-in by voice on the commute, without picking up the phone.
A task pane while you create the meeting: it suggests Door James rooms and fills the appointment in, so the room is booked where the meeting is planned.
A fully working version of the app with example data, reachable without a login – the fastest way to show a colleague what this actually looks like.
A tablet at reception for visitor self check-in and badge printing.
Door James 2.0 is designed against BITV/WCAG 2.0 criteria. An independent certification has not been completed.
The number of channels is not an end in itself. It follows the observation that bookings rarely happen at a desk: the office day is planned on the sofa in the evening, the parking space booked on the way to the car, the room agreed in a Teams chat. Every missing channel shifts effort to reception or creates unbooked usage – and therefore inaccurate occupancy data.
The web app remains the place for planning and overview. Native apps own everything related to arriving: check-in by scan or geofence, badge, push. Widgets and smartwatch reduce that to a glance or a tap. The Teams app targets organizations where Teams is the primary tool; it is deliberately lean and not a replacement for the Admin Panel.
Languages
Everyone works in their own language – including guests and colleagues at international locations. The language follows the person, not the location.
Language not in the list? Tell us which one you need. Adding a language is routine work for us, and we would rather do it than have a team use a tool in the wrong language. Request a language
No. The web app covers the full functionality. Native apps mainly pay off for push notifications, QR check-in and geofencing.
The native apps are in the App Store and Google Play; distribution through your mobile device management is possible. The Teams app is provided as a tenant package.
Door James 2.0 has been designed against the relevant BITV/WCAG criteria. An independent certification has not been completed, and we phrase it that way in tenders too.
