The people who build Door James

Nine people, one product. No agency in between, no white-labelled platform underneath.

Updated:

In short

Door James is developed by a dedicated team at CGI Deutschland B.V. & Co. KG in Düsseldorf: product ownership and project management, four people in engineering and quality assurance, and a small group working on the AI assistant and product content. The team builds the product itself – Door James is not a resold or white-labelled platform.

A small team, deliberately

Door James is built by nine people. That is not modesty, it is the reason the product looks the way it does: features that would need a committee to agree on tend not to get built, and the ones that do get built usually came from a customer conversation someone on this page had themselves.

The three roles that surprise people are the ones on the right-hand side of the list. A dedicated test lead on a team of nine is unusual and it shows in how few regressions reach customers. A chatbot specialist and an AI video specialist exist because the assistant and the product documentation are treated as parts of the product rather than as marketing afterthoughts.

Where CGI comes in

CGI is one of the largest independent IT and business consulting firms in the world, and Door James is one of its products rather than a side project of a small vendor. That combination is the honest answer to the two questions procurement always asks: the team is small enough to answer an email, and the company behind it is large enough to sign a contract with.

Hosting, security, data protection and the contractual side sit with CGI. What the product does, and in which order it gets there, sits with the team above.

Talking to us

There is deliberately no list of personal email addresses on this page. Requests go to the central address, where the team works from one queue – which is faster than finding the right individual and does not leave a question sitting in one inbox during a holiday. If you are already a customer, the Help Center and the in-app support route reach the same people.

Frequently asked questions

Is Door James built by CGI itself?

Yes. Door James is a product of CGI Deutschland B.V. & Co. KG and is developed by the team on this page. It is not a resold or white-labelled third-party platform, which matters for two practical reasons: feature requests reach the people who can implement them, and support questions do not have to travel through a vendor chain.

How do we reach the team?

Through the central address, doorjames.support@cgi.com, or the contact page. Requests go into the same queue the team works from, which is faster in practice than knowing an individual name – and it means your request does not wait for one person to come back from holiday.

How large is the team?

Nine people work on Door James directly: product and project management, four in engineering and quality, and three on the AI assistant and product content. Behind that sits CGI as the operating company for hosting, security and contracts.

Who decides what gets built?

Product ownership sits with Ianna Paquette, with project management by Fabian Rüter. Customer requests are collected, prioritized and published on the roadmap rather than handled case by case, so what is coming is visible before it ships.
