Door James in your existing IT landscape

No second identity silo, no parallel calendar. Door James uses what your organization already runs.

Updated:

In short

Door James connects to your existing identity provider through OpenID Connect – most commonly Microsoft Entra ID – and uses Microsoft Graph for profile and group synchronization as well as Outlook room calendars. A Microsoft Teams app, kiosk devices at reception, SAML sign-in and custom JSON user synchronization complete the picture; ServiceNow, Stripe and smart locks are planned rather than available.

Identity instead of user management

Most problems when introducing workplace software arise not in the application but in user management: who creates accounts, who deactivates them when someone leaves, how do groups and departments enter the system? Door James answers that with a clear position: the truth about users lives in your directory, not in Door James.

Through OpenID Connect employees sign in with their familiar corporate account. Through Microsoft Graph, profile data and group memberships are read – the latter drive whitelists, area access and booking rights. When an account is deactivated in the directory, access to Door James ends.

What we commit to and what we do not

We keep the integration pages deliberately concrete. What runs in the product today is described as a feature. What is technically possible but depends on a third party is described as a verification step. What is under development appears on the roadmap. We do not skip that distinction, because in tenders it makes the difference between a reliable and a risky statement.

Frequently asked questions

Which identity providers are supported?

Door James uses OpenID Connect. Microsoft Entra ID and Google are preconfigured patterns; other OIDC-capable providers can be configured. For Keycloak-specific production scenarios we confirm the current status before making a binding statement.

Is SAML supported?

Yes. SAML sign-in is configurable in the Admin Panel, including separate service provider credentials for the member app and the panel, and a mandatory connection test before the configuration can be saved.

Can we connect our access control system?

Door James can address third-party systems through common interfaces. Whether a specific connection is feasible usually depends on the access control vendor – we verify that rather than promise it.

Are special network ports required?

No. Sign-in runs through OIDC and outbound HTTPS; no special inbound ports are required. 802.1x is not applicable for a SaaS application operated over the public internet.

Not sure which modules you need?

Every module is in the same subscription, so the question is not what to buy but what to switch on first. Thirty minutes is usually enough to answer it.
