Know who is in the building when it matters

The check-in data created every day for bookings is available as a presence list in an emergency.

Updated:

In short

Evacuation management uses existing check-in data from employees and visitors as a live presence list: admins trigger an emergency, see who is presumed to be present, record status reports and coordinate the assembly point. Door James additionally manages first aiders with qualification, validity period, contact details and area of responsibility.

Features

Trigger an emergency

Authorized roles start an emergency in the Admin Panel; the presence list becomes the evacuation list instantly.

Live presence list

You can see who is checked in and therefore presumed to be in the building – including visitors.

Status reporting

People report their status; responsible staff mark and track it during the incident.

Crisis list

Open cases stay visible until they are resolved – for an orderly handover to emergency services.

First aider management

Who is trained, until when is the qualification valid, for which area, how are they reachable?

Location-specific settings

Emergency configuration, assembly points and responsibilities are maintained per location.

The value is created beforehand, not in the emergency

Evacuation lists fail in practice because they have to be maintained – and nobody maintains a list for an event that will hopefully never happen. Door James inverts that: the list is a by-product of daily use. Whoever checks in is on the list; whoever checks out disappears from it. Visitors are included automatically through visitor management.

An honest positioning

We position this module deliberately conservatively. A check-in-based list tells you who registered – not who is in which room. For coordination at the assembly point and for the handover to emergency services that is a significant improvement over a paper list. It is not intended as, and not offered as, a replacement for access control, fire detection or a certified safety system.

Frequently asked questions

Does Door James replace our fire safety concept?

No. Door James is a coordination aid based on existing presence data and explicitly not a safety-critical system with fail-safe guarantees. CGI's SaaS terms exclude use as fail-safe control technology in hazardous environments.

How reliable is the presence list?

As reliable as check-in discipline. With QR or geofence check-in and a check-in requirement enabled it reaches high coverage in practice, but it remains an assumption rather than an access measurement.

Do first aiders see personal data?

Access depends on the role. Visibility of lists and contact details is controlled through the role and permission model.
