Integrations
The room calendar stays where it is. Door James works on the same data – in both directions.
In short
The Outlook integration synchronizes Exchange room calendars bidirectionally through Microsoft Graph: rooms blocked in Outlook cannot be booked in Door James, and Door James bookings appear in the room calendar. The Outlook add-in from the September release additionally allows room search with live availability and floor plan selection inside the meeting.
Existing Outlook meetings block the room in Door James as well.
Anything booked in Door James appears in the room calendar and is visible to everyone.
Search rooms by area, check live availability on a timeline, pick the room on the floor plan – without leaving the meeting.
Room usage from both worlds ends up in one evaluation.
The alternative to synchronization would be an organizational rule: “from now on, rooms are only booked in Door James”. Such rules rarely hold, because the invitation is created in Outlook anyway. That is why calendar integration is not an add-on feature for us but the precondition for room data being reliable at all.
The Outlook add-in also shortens the path: instead of guessing a room from a list of names, organizers see live availability and the floor plan inside the meeting. Time and location stay in sync with the invitation. The add-in is part of the September 2026 release. It ships as a manifest that people can add to Outlook themselves; central distribution through your tenant is arranged per project.
A Microsoft Entra ID integration, an app registration with the necessary calendar permissions, where required an integration or system mailbox, and read access to the free/busy status of the rooms involved.
If the system is restored to an earlier point in time, Outlook bookings from the period after it can temporarily differ until synchronization catches up. Free/busy queries still prevent conflicts during that window.
Yes. Linking happens per room resource, so only a subset of rooms can be synchronized.
