Event management (workplace)
Workplace event management organises internal formats – town halls, trainings, team days, customer visits – including registration, capacity and check-in.
In short
Workplace event management organises internal formats such as town halls, trainings, team days, onboarding sessions and customer visits. It covers publishing the event, collecting registrations, enforcing capacity limits, handling guest lists for external attendees and checking people in on the day. Unlike public event platforms, it operates inside the organization's own user directory and building model.
What distinguishes it from event platforms
A public ticketing platform sells seats to strangers. Workplace event management invites known employees and their guests into a known building. That changes the requirements: identities come from the corporate directory, capacity is bounded by the room, external guests need a visitor record, and attendance counts towards building occupancy.
The overlooked part: the building
An internal event with 120 registrations affects desk demand, parking, catering and reception on that day. When events live in a separate tool, that load is invisible to the people running the office. When they share the same system as bookings and visitors, the day's total load is simply visible.
Typical functions
Event page with description and dates, registration with a deadline, capacity limit and waiting list, guest lists for external participants, digital badges, check-in on arrival, and attendance reporting afterwards.
From the definition to your own offices
Terminology is where an evaluation starts, not where it ends. Thirty minutes with the product open turns the concept into your floor plan.
